AKPK fetes media staff for outreach efforts

KUALA LUMPUR: Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) Aug 8 here held a breaking fast event for the media to show its appreciation for the support to the agency to reach out to public. 

 

AKPK General Manager Corporate Services Division Nor Fazleen Zakaria said the agency offered its services free of charge to all Malaysians and is on a mission to promote financial wellness. 

 

In a statement, she said the agency is offering comprehensive consumer educational programmes as well as providing professional credit counselling and debt management programmes. 

 

“We aim to make prudent financial management a way of life,” she said. 

 

The agency among others proposed to the public to prepare a budget, make a checklist and to be smart shoppers in preparation for the coming Eid. 

 

It also cautioned Muslims celebrating Eid no to be compelled to have everything new and to take cash advances. 

 

It also recommended the public to buy things using cash and to make travelling plans in advance. 

 

AKPK also urged the public to pay their bills before the festive season and to make the habit to save. 

 

Some 20 media personnel attended the event, which was hosted by AKPK CEO Koid Swee Lian and its Operation Manager Operation Division Azman Hasim.
