KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) has succeeded in assisting 2,460 people in settling RM80.9 million in bank debts, via its credit management programme.
Chief executive officer Koid Swee Lian said, they were among 81,596 people assisted through the programme by restructuring borrowings such as credit card and personal loans.
"The number of cases resolved is an encouraging achievement for us as we have yet to enter our 10th year of operation since AKPK was set up in 2006.
"We act as a 'middle person' between the borrower and the bank
concerned," she said.
She was speaking to reporters after a presentation ceremony of AKPK publications to the National Library (PNM) here Wednesday. Also present was former Bernama editor-in-chief Datuk Seri Azman Ujang.
