

In 2014, the Chief Executive Officer of AKPK, Encik Azaddin Ngah Tasir, unveiled AKPK’s corporate culture values. While initially developed as an ethics guide, the corporate culture has extended to become a company-wide code of conduct expected of its employees.
A committee, LEPIN (an acronym derived from our corporate values), was formed in 2017 to roll out a systematic and effective Corporate Culture campaign to assist all employees in internalising the corporate values and demonstrating them, thus reflecting the culture externally.
In 2020, AKPK’s existing corporate culture—encompassing Learning, Productivity, Integrity & Sincerity and Nobility as its core values—was further polished to include Empathy.

The Corporate Culture Campaign
The objective of the corporate culture is to create a conducive environment to strengthen the core values of AKPK while inculcating them in our recruits. With this in mind, AKPK has made a point to organise annual corporate culture campaigns from 2017 onwards. In 2019, gamification (via mobile application) of staff engagement activities was introduced in the corporate culture campaign.
Gamification continued to be used over the past two (2) years where staff were presented with a fictional storyline—LEPINation—and immersed in their role as agents on a covert mission, carrying out assigned tasks to completion. Both campaigns received overwhelming support from the staff, and the use of the mobile application has eased the assessment of staff’s behaviour comprehensively throughout the campaign period.

The LEPINATION game for 2020 entitled “ The Last Judgement”, began on 1st March and ended on 30th September 2020 after seven (7) months of running daily activities to complete 77 challenges that revolved around 22 topics.
During this period, all the players assumed the role of a saviour to prevent the world from doomsday by acquiring the five (5) Stones of Genesis (each representing a corporate value of AKPK).


All 186 staff of AKPK participated in LEPINation 2020: The Last Judgement. Staff participation was voluntary (entirely) as participants have had a positive experience in 2019 and were eager to repeat the adventure.
The LEPINation challenges saw staff embracing better interdepartmental and inter-branch communications, learning new technical skills, and fostering better ties and teamwork with each other. Overall, the game boosted the staff’s morale and spirit, particularly during these challenging times.
